October 22, 2013 (Montreal, QC) – Alex Harvey, bronze medallist at the 2013 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Val di Fiemme, Italy, received the second annual Team Spirit award in a special ceremony at Auclair / Paris Gloves Montreal offices on October 22.
Created by long-time, exclusive team glove sponsor Auclair, the $2,000 award recognizes athletes who go above-and-beyond to be a good teammate and mentor on the Nordic squad, and also gives back to the communities in which they train and compete – in addition to marking team and personal performance. In 2012, the inaugural award was presented to Harvey’s teammate and friend, Devon Kershaw. The Canadian duo also joined forces to place fourth in the team sprint race at the 2011 World Championships.
Harvey received the award during a meet-and-greet session with the staff at Auclair’s Montreal offices on Tuesday, including Vice President Mrs. Joan Monk and the new C.E.O. Mr. Robert Langlois. “I would like to take this opportunity to wish Alex continued success and the best of luck in Sochi,” commented Langlois.
